We do not ask for payment card details, government ID numbers or health information through the website or newsletter.
How we use it
- The Fitness Living Magazine Newsletter. We email you when a new interview spotlight is published. You are added only after you click the link in our confirmation email (double opt-in), and every email includes links to unsubscribe or manage your preferences. We use your first name to personalize the greeting.
- Answering you. We use inquiry details to reply about editorial features, advertising and sponsorships.
- Publishing features. We publish interview content only with the featured person’s or business’s agreement.
- Running and protecting the site. Technical data helps us deliver pages, prevent spam and abuse, and understand which articles are read.
We do not sell your email address or provide it to the businesses and people we feature for their own marketing purposes. We use service providers such as MailPoet where necessary to operate and deliver the newsletter.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process information on our behalf to run the site and newsletter:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| MailPoet (Automattic) | Stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails through the MailPoet Sending Service |
| Rocket.net | Website hosting, content delivery and security |
| Google Fonts | Delivers the typefaces used on the site; your browser requests them from Google |
| Gravatar (Automattic) | Displays author profile images |
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our readers, our publication or others.
Cookies, retention and your choices
Cookies and browser storage. We use cookies only where the site needs them to work: cookies WordPress uses for signed-in editors, and cookies our hosting and security provider may set to protect the site. We do not use advertising cookies, and Google Analytics is currently disabled on the site. On articles, our view counter keeps a small record in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) listing the articles you’ve viewed and when, so a repeat visit within 30 minutes isn’t counted twice. Entries older than seven days are removed the next time it updates, the record stays in your browser, and the counter sends only the article’s ID to our own server. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. Our newsletter emails measure opens and clicks within the email itself and do not place cookies on the website; you can prevent open measurement by turning off automatic image loading in your email app.
How long we keep it. We keep subscriber details while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and unsubscribe record so we honor your choice. Inquiry emails are kept as long as needed to handle the request and our business records.
Your choices and rights.
- Unsubscribe at any time with the link in any newsletter email, or change your preferences with the Manage preferences link.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by contacting privacy@fitnesslivingmagazine.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will not discriminate against you for using them.
Children. Fitness Living Magazine™ is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes. If we update this policy, we will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, note it on this page.
